Project description
The project envisages construction of a plant for the processing of pumpkin and the production of edible pectin from pumpkin. Currently Russia does not have its own industrial production of pectin food, medical and industrial use. The estimated annual demand of the Russian Federation in pectins is for food purposes (taking into account only the needs of the confectionery, dairy and canning industry) 7148 tons. The construction of a plant for the production of pectin from pumpkin, with capacity of 300 tons of pectin a year, will be able to cover about 5% of the market needs. Used in the production process, the new technology allows to extract up to 95% of the pectin from raw materials, is environmentally friendly, resource-saving, allows to reduce production costs by 50-70% in comparison with the technologies used by manufacturers of pectin. Proximity to raw material base, application of new technologies, the presence of a professional team with experience in food production will create a modern enterprise to get high-quality, competitive product, ultimately to achieve the goals of the project, namely: to reduce the share of imported pectins in the Russian market, to bring new pectin into foreign markets, to create a fast-growing manufacturing, to own market share, increase sales volume and maximize profit.
Market analytics
The volume of Russian market about 4-6 thousand tons, an annual increase of 10%. The global market volume of 30 thousand tons, annual growth of 3-6%. The biggest producer of pectin in the world market is Hercules co. (USA) since 2000 "KP Kelco". Other important producers of pectin – Herbstreith & Fox KG, Germany (mainly Apple pectin), Cesalpina di Milano, Italy, Andre Pectin (China). The uniqueness of the project
The uniqueness of the project consists in the application of new technology of extracting pectin from raw material pectinesterase: "Biotechnology of production of pectin to endogenous amiloliticescoy enzymatic catalysis of complex polysaccharides in the conditions of unstable, thermally labile biological activity of cytoplasmic low-temperature hydrolysis". Technology eliminates the use of acids, alkalis and metal salts in minor quantities and is positioned within the production of natural and organic products, the technology can extract up to 95% of the pectin from any pectinesterase raw materials, without changeover of the production line, the use of expensive enzymes in the process of production and purification stages of the finished product, which greatly reduces cost in comparison with analogues of foreign manufacturers.
