Company Intiator officially the owner of the anthropogenic deposits in 2014.

The project proponent has owned the sere consisting of the Converter and Furnace slags nickelcobalt. Furnace Slag 50 million tons., Converter slag of more than 6 million tons.

The Converter slag was formed in the anthropogenic deposits of Nickel and cobalt in the period from the commencement of operation of the plant, which was commissioned in 30 years of the last century, and up to 2000 years was dumping. The company was one of the largest manufacturer of Nickel in Russia. The room was operated from the early days of the startup of the plant until the 2000s. The volume of the room is more than 60 million tons of slag. The richest in content of Nickel and cobalt are Converter slag, which is composed of the blade more than 6 million tons.

There is a rating of the CCI of the Russian Federation (2018), according to which the field has a cost of 900 million dollars.

Project processing of raw materials is planned at the Site. This will allow to use all the infrastructure and technological opportunities of the area, but also will allow to involve into turnover the full potential of the Room.

The processing volume will amount to 117 thousand tons of Converter slag annually.

  4. Silica fume 99% of 32 thousand tons per year for the tire industry, concrete, building mortar
  5. Copper sulphate the grade "A" 300 tons per year for medicine and agriculture

With the appropriate sufficient demand in the market, it is possible to produce part or the whole amount of Nickel and cobalt in the form of salts or carbonate.

  • conducted by the same Institute in 2011 a comprehensive research for the Converter slag other plants.
  • research laboratory of hydrometallurgy of cobalt, Nickel and noble metals extraction processes of extraction of Nickel and cobalt
  • research this laboratory of composition and techniques of recycling wastes are owned by Intiator project
  • development research center of the RAS specialized equipment for these processes.

The proposed scheme of processing of Converter slags based on hydrochloride leaching technology of raw materials and the extraction recovery of the final product from the solution. This allows you to minimize the technological branch of the production cycle, limited only by leaching the crushed slag materials and waste iron-Nickel-cobalt solutions in hydrometallurgical process flow at once into a marketable product.

Similar fabrication work for industrial plants of JSC "Norilsk Nickel" (the plant "Severonikel" and GF "Norilsk Nickel").
